ELON^® Matrix 5,000 Supplement for Hair Description
While numerous studies have been conducted for biotin use to increase nail plate thickness and durability (i.e. ELON^® Matrix Plus - 3,000 mcg for nails), ELON^® Matrix 5,000 was created in response to Dermatologists demands in the U.S. for its use in hair. Dermatologists rationalized that since hair and nails are composed of the same base nutrients (biotin, silica and l-cysteine) that almost doubling the dosing should help both areas. In fact, the response was so overwhelming that we also offer the same benefits with an added multi-vitamin: ELON^® Matrix 5,000 Complete - multi-vitamin for hair.

During the first 4-6 months, look in the shower to see the amount of hair loss (as this is the one place the patient can see the amount of hair loss without interference such as brushes, etc.). Slowly, less and less hair is lost. The amount lost will never get to zero, as a healthy human will lose approximately 100 strands per day. After 6 months, you generally find that the new hair growth begins to appear fuller and thicker. (Since hair grows at a rate of one quarter to one half an inch per month, it does take approximately 4-6 months to build up enough volume for this to be visible.)
